How common are vaccine reactions?

We are always told that vaccines only affect 1 person in a million. Yet I almost always ask the question - how many of you know someone who has either been injured or killed by vaccinations - at my seminars and nearly everyone raises their hands. This is a very unscientific poll, but I would like to know how many of you know of someone who has either been killed or injured by their childhood or adult vaccinations.
