Perth Vaccination Seminar - AVN members support freedom of speech!
It has been less than 2 hours since I sent out my email asking for support for the Perth Library to allow us to continue our plans to present our seminar there next week. I have spent this entire time, formatting emails to upload to this blog and writing to thank everyone who has written in and I am falling behind. These messages below are only a small fraction of the emails I have received (and the library too) so I am as always humbled and grateful to our members for their support of the AVN and freedom of choice! If you haven't yet written to Margaret, read these letters and see that some of them are only 1 or 2 sentences long. Margaret's email address is margaret.allen@slwa.wa.gov.au and please remember to send a copy of your letter to me - meryl@avn.org.au.
Hi Margaret
I am emailing to ask you not to give in to external pressures with regards to the up-and-coming Vaccination Seminar.
I am very much undecided about the subject and have spoken with my local health centre and have read all the information that I have been given. I would now like to hear the opposing arguments so that I can make an informed decision.
Please let this seminar go ahead.
Thank you
AN
I write to urge you to ensure this important seminar takes place.
Kind regards,
E and RB
Dear Ms Allen,
I understand that the AVN has proudly booked in a Seminar at your venue in Perth. I would just like add my support as a long-time member of AVN, and say that, yes, people who shine the torch into dark places sometimes upset some people, but then again, because I have been working in hospitality for many years I know that you can’t please everyone all the time.
I would just like to say however, that the best way is to stay focused on the benefits of anything you do.
"Informed choice is a fit and proper goal for any democratic society"
AVN is simply "shining the torch" and asking people to consider, using all available information for their decision about using the Flu Vaccine.
Please let this event take place. People need to know all available information and then they can choose for themselves.
I wish you all the best for the day
Best regards
KM
Hi Margaret,
I am a keen supporter of Freedom of Speech in Australia.
I very much appreciate The WA State Library hosting the AVN seminar which will enable people to have information from both sides of the vaccination debate and make an educated choice concerning their health options.
Kind Regards,
JD
Hi Margaret,
I am contacting you to support the vaccination seminar to be held in Perth. I would love to attend but I am in Sydney. I think this is very important to present both sides of the vaccination issue because we all know that there are two sides to every issue and fair, honest people always want to present the two sides and then the public can make up their own mind when all the information is presented to them.
Our health is a very important issue and vaccinations are an important part of this health debate. Health issues should always be open, transparent and all the facts presented because we have people’s health at stake.
In my opinion Meryl Dorey is an expert and a true professional in the area of vaccination and her objective has always been and always will be to inform the public of all the facts relating to vaccinations and nothing more. This is the mark of a professional who has total integrity and the public’s well being as the only objective.
Meryl has been researching vaccinations for the past 20 years and therefore speaks from an highly informed objective position.
I wish you all the best with the seminar.
Kind Regards,
CV
Dear Mrs Allen,
I would like to thank you for allowing the Australian Vaccination Network to hold a Flu Vaccination Seminar at the library. Freedom of information is very important, especially on the issue of vaccination when it effects all our lives and our health.
The AVN have been able to supply me with information on vaccination that I was unable to access anywhere else and from that information, I have found answers to many questions that have arisen for enabling me to make a FULLY informed decision about very important health issues for my family.
All the information they have supplied to me comes directly from the drug manufacturers and medical journals which I believe my GP should have been responsible enough to tell me.
Once again, thank you for making it possible for other people to have access to information that they have a right to know so they too can make fully informed decisions.
Yours faithfully
NB
Dear Margaret
I am an attendee coming to an event on June 1 at the Alexander Library that is being held by the AVN.
I had paid to attend this event on May 14th in Perth and unfortunately it was cancelled at short notice.
I have always been a person to seek out information before making decisions, and I am looking forward to finally hearing Meryl speak in Western Australia.
I am most grateful that the event will go ahead at your venue as it is most important that we as 'the people' are given the opportunity to hear both sides of an argument, after all that is our democratic right.
I do understand that vaccination is a very emotive issue for many people and I also understand that sometimes the action and behaviour of people is driven to act from a fear-based mentality.
When I look at both sides of an argument, I like to find the common ground, as this is where understanding can be gained, and both sides can move forward. In the case of vaccination the common ground is that we all desire to make the best choices for our own health and that of our children. It is a known fact sadly, that throughout the world there has been many cases of vaccine damage compensation paid out by companies. This cannot be denied, so why would we choose to bury our heads in the sand and choose to deny any argument that informs us of the side effects of vaccination and the potential dangers of it be heard?
I am very concerned that pressure may come to bear to cancel this event and I am putting forward, what I believe is very good reason, that we must hear the other side of the argument. I have been giving this whole issue a lot of thought and I am cc’ing Meryl in this as I wish to suggest to her that at this event we have a petition started to request the Federal or State Government act in our interest and put the funding forward for a twenty year double blind study with both vaccinated and non-vaccinated children which would be in the interest of all 'the people'.
Thanking you for reading my thoughts.
Kindest regards
PH
Dear Mrs. Allen,
I have been following the recent upsurge in childhood sickness prevalence and avidly follow the issues surrounding the efficacy of vaccinating. As such, I would like to commend you for giving the public the opportunity to learn about this topic. This is a clear step for supporting the public to become more informed, thus being able to make an informed choice, which is everybody's right.
Keeping such information from the public is disempowering them to be able to learn facts surrounding this issue or not trusting individuals to have the capacity to make their own health choices.
I am making sure I let my contacts in the area know about this presentation and encourage them to attend.
Once again, I thank-you for being essentially in support of this democratic right.
Regards,
NW
Dear Margaret
I would like to offer my support for the above event. Regardless of which side of the debate you sit, it is essential to have information pertinent to public health freely available to the public.
I am sure you will receive a myriad of emails asking for this event to be cancelled, but to what end? The AVN to my knowledge only supports the promotion of publicly available information which is often absent from mainstream media - they simply ask for each parent to be informed. I am sure as a librarian you are also passionate about freedom of information.
With best regards,
SM
Hi Margaret,
My wife, and I both support the important work that the AVN is doing and want the upcoming seminar to proceed.
Thanks for providing a venue for it.
Sincerely,
AH
Dear Margaret
Thank you for allowing the AVN to use the premises for the purpose of education of vaccinations. Freedom of speech is imperative. Informed choice should be the right of every person.
Regards,
TG
Dear Margaret,
I read today with interest that once again the Sceptics Association is having a hissy fit about Meryl Dorey speaking to a group of people who simply want to hear another side to the vaccination debate.
The recent childhood reactions to the ‘flu vaccine especially in WA, require nothing more than rigorous debate across the entire spectrum of espoused positions, from those that would make vaccination compulsory, to those that would never vaccinate, and in order for this to happen, the debate cannot be stifled by one group who intend on bullying to further their own agenda.
Being the father of 2 boys, one 8yo and 1 almost 2yo, my wife and I took it upon ourselves to read and research as much information as we were able to digest, to allow us to make our own informed choices on their behalf. Surely we all have that right. What is there to hide or suppress?
When we couple the ample anecdotal evidence both here and internationally, with very informed and educated people coming out in support of further research and debate, surely we all have an obligation to ensure somewhere in all this, Truth emerges. This is the only way truth can emerge.
We cannot underestimate the freedom of speech we enjoy and must do everything we can to ensure our right to this is not eroded by a vocal few, and so I urge you to ensure this event proceeds and congratulate you on providing a forum for those that are seeking further information, to find it, process it and debate it if they so choose.
Best regards,
JB
Hi Margaret,
I wanted to thank you for having the upcoming Flu Vaccination Seminar at your venue. It is a subject that I feel we should be able to hear both sides of, and was very disappointed when the talk was rescheduled last time due to the venue pulling out at the last minute.
Thank you for your stand on freedom of speech and information.
Kind regards
AC
Dear Mrs. Allen,
Thank you so much for upholding freedom of speech & the freedom to communicate.
I am writing in regard to the Vaccination Seminar & I’m so glad you have been able to stand against the pressure from vested interests that prefer that we do not ever have truly informed consent.
My son suffered post vaccinal encephalitis & vaccinosis after a triple vaccine in 1975. Had I known that brain swelling was a possible adverse effect, I would never have consented. As it was, there was never any written consent – just an expectation that we would all just have our children vaccinated as a matter of course. He is 35 now & I just wish the information that AVN has, had been available to me all those years ago.
Yours truly,
AC
Dear Margaret,
I am just writing a quick email to you to thank you for enabling the AVN to use the venue of the State Library for their seminar on the Flu Vaccinations.
I am a mother to 5 beautiful, healthy children. My first 2 children are partly vaccinated. It was not until my son had severe reactions to his vaccines that I started to investigate the procedures and processes involved in developing and approving vaccines.
It was with the help of the AVN that I was able to access studies and information that would have otherwise taken me a long time to source.
I also found that there are thousands of other families in the same situation as me and that these families are coming to the same conclusions.
Unfortunately, it appears that there are other members of our society who want this information to be inaccessible to people and are quite prepared to use threats to achieve these goals. I have personally been on the receiving end of veiled threats to my business operation via the internet.
I encourage you to stand your ground for the rights of all Australians, living in a country where free speech is supported and encouraged.
Regards,
VL
Dear Mrs Margaret Allen,
I would like to show my deepest appreciation in allowing AVN to have the opportunity to use the premises for their meeting. AVN has been such an informative part of my life and I am grateful for all the sincere dedication of all the people that make up AVN. My children have also benefited by the ongoing information that AVN has freely provided my husband and I. I am a high believer in the freedom of speech and I hold great credit for those who also believe it. So I am forwarding my appreciation to you.
Warm wishes
SM
Dear Mrs. Allen,
I believe in informed choice in all medical treatment, including vaccinations. I hope and trust the Flu Vaccination seminar to be presented by AVN on June 1 will be allowed to proceed as scheduled.
Sincerely,
MF
Dear Margaret
I hope that you are not dissuaded from holding the information seminar that will be presented by AVN. Meryl Dorey is a great speaker. She knows her subject matter very, very well.
Vaccination is hot topic at the moment. I think that it is appropriate that a public library is the venue to present legitimate ideas on the topic to the public. You will not be disappointed .

Dear Mrs. Margaret Allen,
I am aware the AVN has a planned Seminar 1st of June 2010 at your venue. I realise you may get some negative comments from people who do not want this to proceed. I am writing this in the hope that you realise Free Speech is important regardless of topic, and hopeful you would dismiss any attempts made by groups or individuals trying to stop this Seminar from proceeding.
Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Communication is something the majority of Australians stand for.
Thanking You.
Regards,
DK
Hi Margaret
I am a supporter of freedom of speech and I want to say thank you for offering the AVN (who have supported me with well researched, un-biased information regarding vaccination) the opportunity to hold their flu seminar in your conference room. It is the desire of those of us who donate to the AVN that they are given the chance to speak freely without threat by government officials or skeptics alike.
If you have the opportunity to listen, you will find that Meryl is incredibly well versed, with the documentation to prove it, in the field of vaccination.
kind regards,
LS
Dear Mrs Allen,
I am writing in order to encourage you in your role as CEO of a very important institution.
Please ensure that the AVN lecture is allowed to continue next week.
The information is important for the public to make properly informed choices and for public debate around these issues.
Yours sincerely,
SJ, D.C.
Dear Margaret,
Can you please ensure that the seminar on information in regards to flu vaccinations is allowed to proceed regardless of any pressure you might receive from any external sources? As educated and concerned parents in a democratic society, we deserve to have access to any and all information, good and bad, in particular regards to issues involving our health and welfare.
Kind Regards,
ND
Hi Margaret
I am always disappointed when an organisation with differing opinions from the mainstream is squashed by people in powerful positions - mostly media. Maybe in 50 years time we will all be wondering why more people didn't listen to, or hear, these different ideas?
It is so important that in the democratic country of Australia we continue to support the rights of individuals and organisations to free speech. Everyone should be allowed alternative views from the 'accepted' mainstream.
I hope you will continue to support the AVN seminar proceeding at your venue.
Cheers
MC
Margaret,
I am sending this email regarding the AVN seminar schedule in WA. I understand there is pressure to cancel this event. Whatever happened to freedom of voice and ‘personal education’? People should be encouraged to educate themselves whether that be around education, health, politics. It is a parent’s right and responsibility to educate themselves on these issues, especially when it relates to the health of children.
I’m extremely upset and angry that the Sceptics association is trying to have the seminar cancelled. Why? What are they scared of????? I’m sure if they held a seminar on this topic, the AVN wouldn’t lobby to have it cancelled.
I would question the association’s ethics as to why they want it cancelled.
JL
Dear Margaret
As a believer still, in democracy and freedom of speech, also believing there is always two sides to a story. Please do what you can to allow another view to be aired on the flu vaccine issue.
I am a parent, married with two teenage children and a herder of 1100 female goats all unvaccinated and healthy. I do however attend to strengthening their immune systems in any way I can. I am pleased to say they are healthy. Our children do not have a family doctor. It’s not that we have any issue with doctors, it’s that they have not needed one.
TB
Dear Margaret,
I am a mother in Sydney NSW and wanted to offer support in your efforts in offering a venue for the Vaccination seminar, I only wish I could attend.
This is clearly a topic of interest that many parents want to be informed about, so we can make up our own mind.
Kind Regards,
SC
Thank you for your support. It may not seem like a big deal (or maybe it does?) but there are plenty of people in Australia who appreciate the chance that you are giving to the AVN to get this information out there. It needs to be heard so people can decide for themselves. They may even disagree with it – but they should hear both sides of the debate to choose, not be pushed along with the crowd unknowingly.
Thank you again.
JK
Hello,
Just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for providing a venue for the Flu vaccination seminar by the AVN. I believe one of the greatest benefits of living in Australia is the protection of freedom of speech and freedom of choice. An important part of this is having access to both sides of an argument and then making up your own mind. The AVN has been a great source of information and support for me personally and they truly do an amazing job in the face of horrendous adversity.
Kind regards,
MS
To Margaret,
Thank you very much for allowing your venue to be hired by the AVN and ensuring that fear is not the deciding factor in determining what information is and is not circulated amongst our community.
One of the keystones of our medical/legal system is 'Informed choice' and without information sessions like this, how can we possibly feel that we are educated enough to assert our rights?
We are very grateful for your professionalism.
Thanks
ML
Dear Mrs Allen,
It is my understanding that the AVN is to hold a public meeting in a venue in WA and that you hold responsibility for that venue.
I wish to thank you for agreeing to the meeting being held in the venue.
I also understand that a group describing themselves as 'skeptics' may be trying to influence you to not make the venue available to AVN.
Scientists are meant to be skeptical. What AVN does is to take a skeptical view on a medical procedure, based on the evidence available. That is a scientific approach which supports informed consent.
I hope that you will enable AVN to take this approach by permitting it to use the venue for its meeting and public examination and discussion of this matter.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours sincerely.
DR
Hi Margaret.
I am writing to you in regards to the AVN Vaccination Seminar which is to take place next Tuesday at the State Library.
I am a mum to 4 young children, my youngest being only 11 weeks and after becoming more informed, through loads of research I am choosing not to vaccinate my children. I do question this decision daily, if I am doing the right thing, so hearing the AVN's point of view will be beneficial for me. I am really hoping to attend this seminar in increase my knowledge.
I had previously booked into this seminar but as you are probably aware it was cancelled and hoping that doesn't happen again.
Thank you
HW
To Margaret,
I applaud your intention to see the flu vaccination seminar take place.
I support the concepts of freedom of speech and the determination of AVN to provide information regarding flu vaccination.
Thanks very much
BH
Dear Ms. Allen
As a subscriber to the Australian Vaccination Network (AVN) I would like to request that the seminar that has been arranged for the second time in Perth should be allowed to proceed unimpeded. In a free and open democracy, as Australia is considered to be, people with differing views should be allowed to discuss and present such views without interference from those with opposing views, even if such opposition is held by the majority.
The draconian efforts being made by some to censor the AVN from being able to host such seminars are quite ludicrous and only serve to indicate their fear that the arguments presented will be persuasive and compelling because they are based on scientific research that has been peer reviewed and presented in highly respected medical journals and the like.
Meryl Dorey of the AVN has repeatedly invited her critics to discuss these issues openly and objectively but this offer has been rejected. It is quite simply unfair and undemocratic for critics who are unwilling to engage in such discussions on this matter, to take aggressive steps to silence the AVN in its worthy work. I hope you will resist any undue pressure to intervene and allow the seminar to take place.
Yours sincerely
FH
I am writing to thank you for supporting the AVN by hosting this seminar. As a parent, it can be scary sharing what we know about vaccines with others as they use all sorts of bully tactics and claim it's the unvaccinated that are making everybody sick. As much as I want to help save other children lives, I risk segregation for my own child.
I can't thank the AVN enough for their courage to get the truth heard and I applaud you for doing the same
Kind Regards
KH
Dear Margaret,
As a health practitioner, it is a daily occurrence that people are only being told part of the health story - this goes for diet, spinal care, exercise etc. It is important / vital that people are told the FULL story when it comes to health, particularly when it comes the health of our precious children.
Congratulations for holding the AVN information evening. This is vital information that ALL parents need to hear. It is disappointing and immoral that a small group can have this information suppressed, as has happened in the past.
I wish the event well and look forward to a great outcome.
Kind Regards,
Dr TR
Dear Mrs Allan
I am writing to ask you that you ensure that the seminar scheduled for the 1st June goes ahead and that freedom of speech in Australia is not compromised. It takes a very strong person to resist harassment or intimidation by sceptics and/or large organisations but to do the right thing, because it is the right thing, means you will not regret your decision.
Choices with regards to one health and that of one's children can only be made with access to all the information available at the time, be it for or against any issue of importance to an individual.
Unfortunately I live in Sydney and will not be able to attend this seminar. Although I certainly would if I lived in WA.
With kind regards
SM

Dear Mrs Allen:
RE: cancellation of FLU seminar by Aust Vaccination Network
In the name of science I ask that scrutiny be applied to all bogus claims and quackery, including my own profession.
I am a sceptic of all things. When I was a child I was sure that fire was pretty and would not hurt me as my eyes were delighted. I was wrong.
When I was a teen I went to a doctor and assumed he knew it all. He burned me, I was wrong again.
I thought vaccines were a brilliant theory. They are. In theory.
In practice, other things sometimes happen: lack of sustained immunity, outbreaks of disease regardless, and death sometimes.
Vaccines have killed many more than my own profession by a countless multiplying factor.
A true sceptic questions everything.
I have found most 'skeptics' to be selective and trendily accepting of concepts such as homosexuality, atheism and vegetarianism, etc. Some of these practices are ancient and need no such acceptance. But we can examine what governments want to do en masse. We have to, we are the government.
However, vaccination being a rather recent phenomenon (100-150 years?) it really does need a TWO sided argument.
Please allow it. Lives may depend on it.
Scientifically Yours,
JJ
Dear Margaret
I am a sincere member of AVN live in NSW and have had a researched the history of vaccinations for the past 30 years. I am a grandmother therefore my age is 67 and not of the younger generation. I feel strongly that everyone should have the freedom of speech to get a balanced debate on any one subject. This therefore includes choices in medicines, health and vaccinations. Please support freedom of speech and democracy in this great country Australia.
Yours sincerely
HM
Dear Mrs Allen,
I just wanted to thank you for allowing the upcoming AVN Flu vaccination seminar to be held at the library. Freedom of information is so important in a democratic society and I was appalled (although not shocked) to find the last scheduled event cancelled at the last minute.
Once again thank you for supporting freedom of speech.
Kind regards
GH
Dear Margaret
I was so pleased to hear that the WA state library is happy to have the AVN host their upcoming talk.
It is so refreshing to really believe that we do, in fact, live in a democracy.
Kind regards
MI
Hi Margaret
Just wanted to commend you in agreeing to hold this important seminar at your venue. I think freedom of speech is a right and those who want to be better informed by any information provided at a seminar should have that right. Informed choice is a fit and proper goal for any democratic society.
CM
Dear Margaret
Thank you for enabling free speech to ensue this Tuesday night by providing a venue for a vaccination discussion in the community.
It is so important to provide "both sides of the coin",in terms of information being provided to our communities .We appreciate that an educated person such as yourself has not succumbed to the pressure exerted by one element of the community.
It is frightening to believe sections of our community now believe they can control public speech -the rumblings of fascist world war two really aren't something of the past ! Thank you for your unbiased resolution to allow public speech to continue.
Yours sincerely
Dr KH
After the turbulence of the recent vaccination stories in the media - I wholeheartedly support the AVN being given the opportunity to hold an education event.
Thank you for providing a non biased venue.
TKS
Good morning Ms Allen,
I'm sure your inbox is probably going to take a beating over this decision but I would like to add my thanks to the many I'm sure you will receive for agreeing to host this event. Letting people know that they have a choice and that they have the freedom to decide what they think is best for themselves and their families with regard to their healthcare, is a very important mission. Meryl is an amazing woman for taking this challenge on so I also thank you for supporting her when so many others turn away. That makes you very special and shows that you believe in freedom of speech and freedom of choice.
All the very best and warmest regards,
SC
Hi Margaret
I just wanted to express my appreciation for allowing the AVN seminar to be held at the State Library.
We strongly believe in freedom of speech and information and to suppress an event like this would be based on fear rather than science.
Thankyou again for supporting a democratic society.
Kind Regards,
KA
Dear Margaret
re: AVN seminar 1st June
Please don't let this seminar be cancelled. Australian Vaccination Network has helped me over the years with having freely available information that I needed to make an informed choice for my family and myself, information that I was unable to obtain through my medical practitioner.
This an important health issue and the general public should be able to access any information they need to and not have this stopped by certain people or groups trying to take control of freedom of information and freedom of speech.
Thank you
SN
Margaret,
I send this email in hope that this seminar can take place in your facility, and that you attend and uncover & discover for yourself!
Kind Regards
SA
Hello Margaret,
I cannot fathom the amount of pressure you and your team must be under at this point in time by your brave choice in hosting the Flu Vaccine Seminar.
Thank you all for offering like-minded people, like myself the opportunity to attend this seminar in such wonderful surrounds.
I value the freedom of choice and often like to gather information on big decisions, which I make on behalf of myself and my young family.
Thank you for hosting the Flu Vaccine information seminar. I am very grateful.
Kind Regards to you all,
CB
Dear Margaret
I just want to thank you for supporting free speech and allowing the AVN seminar on flu vaccination.
Freedom to access information and make an informed choice on how they live their lives is the fit and proper right of all citizens of a democratic society. Parents have a right to access information and support around vaccine choices, and the AVN is the only organisation that provides this within Australia in a thoroughly researched and accessible way.
I suffered a reaction to a vaccine that had me lose consciousness within a few minutes of receiving it, and I was an adult when that occurred. The AVN have been invaluable in providing information to my husband and I to make an informed choice in how we approach vaccination with our children.
Thank you again,
AB
Dear Ms Allen,
Below is a copy of the email I sent to the Uniting Church after they cancelled the previously scheduled seminar. I trust that despite any protests or pressure from Skeptic groups or Government agencies that the seminar will be allowed to take place in the name of democracy and fair play.
Kind Regards
To Whom it way concern,
Appalling, appalling appalling that you would cancel this booking at such short notice. So cowardly, what are you afraid of? An alternative perspective which provides very compelling evidence to back up its view point? We desperately need to balance the very once sided debate which seems to prevail in Australia in both the Media and Health arenas concerning vaccination.
Don't you believe that people should make an informed decision with regard to their health and that of their families? How are are they to do that if the counter argument and information is not readily available to the public and is suppressed. The AVN is a very credible, hard working organisation with dedicated and passionate staff who give enormous amounts of support and information to families who have been devastated from the effects of vaccines. This group also provides resources for those who are seeking further information in the area of vaccination before they make a decision. It is hardly a lucrative job and they give far more of their time than you can imagine on a volunteer basis, unlike the medical profession who are remunerated for pushing vaccines and the Pharmaceutical companies who peddle them and mitigate any damage by claiming they are serving the greater good, therefore absolving themselves of any negative consequences.
The AVN are not scare mongers, rather educated people who believe that there are insufficient checks and balances in the current system and that we should be more pro active in ensuring we continue to keep ourselves updated, informed and ask questions of the government, medical and pharmaceutical bodies in relation to our health. Surely we have a GOD given right to have legitimate answers to our questions without fear or favour.
"Do no harm" - Hippocrates
The AVN could certainly subscribe to this motto but could the governments, medical profession and pharmaceutical companies who are so frightened of opposition claim the same?
Your decision to cancel at the 11th hour caused not only caused massive inconvenience but in my opinion is thoroughly unchristian like. I wonder what explanation you would offer to any of your parishioners if the were to encounter an adverse vaccine reaction and where they should go for support?
I am available to discuss this further on XXXXX
Yours Sincerely

Greetings Margaret,
My clinic (both staff and the practitioners) – are aghast at how open debate advertised so timely in W.A. was closed down on the critical flu vaccine issue and its effects on so many children.
Now we hear they are putting pressure on you to once more do the same? We have colleagues and friends in W.A. who wish to hear, also.
We are the ones who see the damage. Please, stand up for democracy here – whatever your thoughts.
Thank you ! thank you !

Good Morning Margaret,
I am pleased that the seminar is now taking place at the state library. I feel everyone should have the choice to hear Meryl Dorey speak on this topic of vaccinations.
I have witnessed first hand the pitfalls of mass vaccination and as a concerned parent I urge everybody to hear both sides of the story.
You always have to ask yourself why certain groups oppose certain topics so strongly especially in light of recent events here in Perth.
I for one will be attending to listen to the information being presented.
Regards,
RA
Dear Ms Allen,
I appreciate your support in allowing the flu vaccination information evening to go ahead at your venue. The basis of good medical practice is that consumers have a right to make an informed choice, to do this they need access to information from varying sources. Thank you for facilitating this access.
Best wishes,
LB
Dear Margaret
I would like to thank you for agreeing to host the AVN Seminar.
I understand that you may come under pressure to cancel the use of the premises. I would like to applaud your support of free speech in this matter.
Like all things I think that it is reasonable to ask the question - if all sides are truly interested in the truth and the protection of lives why are we being bullied to stop talking? It is healthy to encourage debate to ensure that the truth may always rise to the surface, especially when lives are at risk. Why would people want debate suppressed? Is it because of something else - like money or market share?
Thank you for the support of the Seminar - you are facilitating an important debate.
Kind Regards
LB
Hi Margaret and Meryl,
I just wished to express my thanks for Margaret allowing the venue to be available so that parents may attend this seminar and be educated regarding on childhood immunisations. Everyone can at least from that point make their own CHOICE. A very important thing in my eyes.
Thanks again
RP
Dear Ms Allen
I would just like to thank you for agreeing to let the AVN have its seminar at the State Library on the 1st June. I believe there might be a possibility of this venue being cancelled for the event, due to pressure from outside groups. I would just like to say, my personal approach to any decisions in life, whether they be choice of schools for our children, foods we eat, appliances we buy, shows we watch, activities we participate in, and most importantly, choices we make with our precious health, are ALL based on looking at all the options on that subject, first. A seminar of this type simply puts forward some facts which help parents make an INFORMED decision, either way. (I know for a fact, some parents will still choose to vaccinate, and that is THEIR informed decision). So I ask that this subject be given an opportunity to be discussed, as so many other subjects are, which are of a controversial nature.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely
AK
Hi Margaret
Just want to say thank you for allowing the AVN to use your venue. Setting
politics aside for a moment - It's simply nice to give people the
opportunity to listen to both sides of any story & certainly nothing wrong
in letting people make their own informed choice.
Thank you, ZM
Margaret hi,
Thank you for making the library available for the AVN to use.
The AVN has been instrumental in providing accurate information to the community, information which individuals can find difficult to source.
Through my own shop (XXXXXXXX) I personally know of many parents who have used the resources of the AVN to assist in making important decisions regarding the vaccination of their children.
I understand that there have been issues surrounding the booking of a venue in Perth. It is for that reason that I write this email - to thank you for doing your part in upholding freedom of speech which is so important in a democratic country such as ours.
warm regards
JV
