Scientific fraud in drug studies - take 2 sugar pills and call me in the morning...
Remember a few weeks ago on this blog when there was a discussion about the use of placebo controlled vaccine trials that don't use true placebos? There were many comments along the lines of - you can't do a true placebo trial of vaccines and these sorts of trials aren't needed - using a vaccine adjuvant, another vaccine or some toxic substance is perfectly fine as a control.
Well, we knew that was wrong - most of you knew that was wrong and now, it has been shown that this sort of shonky, unscientific science doesn't just apply to vaccine research - its use is widespread across the entire pharmaceutical industry. This is what happens when governments tell drug companies to test their own products and there is no independent oversight. The deaths and injuries caused because of these practices would put the death rates from the World Wars combined to shame.
(NaturalNews) You know all those thousands of clinical trials conducted over the last few decades comparing pharmaceuticals to placebo pills? Well, it turns out all those studies must now be completely thrown out as utterly non-scientific. And why? Because the placebos used in the studies weren't really placebos at all, rendering the studies scientifically invalid.
This is the conclusion from researchers at the University of California who published their findings in the October issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine. They reviewed 167 placebo-controlled trials published in peer-reviewed medical journals in 2008 and 2009 and found that 92 percent of those trials never even described the ingredients of their placebo pills.
