The arrogance of medicine
One of our members sent me the following information and has kindly allowed me to reprint it provided I changed their details (for the obvious reasons).
I found what they told me to be startling and think that you probably will as well.
About 10 years ago, I was given a copy of the medical curriculum for NSW. In the 6-8 years that a prospective doctor studies, they have classes on vaccination for approximately 1/2 a day (unless things have changed substantially since that time). Based on that little bit of learning, they are considered to be experts on this subject. I'm not sure how long the classes below went on for, but I have a feeling that it was at least as long if not longer than the time they spent studying vaccination in medical school.
If a person off the street were to read the AVN's website in full, they would spend more time and get more information about this subject than a medical student would. Yet the medical students are trained to ridicule those who are better informed then they are and to fight against their rights to make an informed choice.
At the same time, they discuss amongst themselves known serious reactions to vaccination while in public, denying the same.
Unjust, unethical, unbelievable!
The arrogance and lack of respect demonstrated by the way in which doctors are 'trained' to deal with those who choose not to vaccinate; their low opinion of these people who, in many cases, know more about the subject than they do, is a snapshot of what is wrong with Western medicine.
I did some work for the _____________ Division of General Practice in training a couple of years ago and during their immunisation workshop (training upcoming GP's). They mimick Conscientious Objectors during role playing by having the Conscientious Objector portrayed as a stupid hippie from Mullumbimby whose baby is called 'Rainbow'.
They then train the GP to counteract all of the silly parental concerns regarding vaccines. It was all very comical (to them). I raised this as a concern at the time but was dismissed with rolling eyes.
Also, some of the GPs who were in attendance said there was a connection between a number of cerebal palsy cases in the _____________ area and a vaccine they were giving out at the time. Full awareness but all very hush hush. That part was anectdotal only so not sure of when, where exactly or any other details. but anyway, thought you might be interested how these GPs are being trained around immunisation.
