What Suburban Housewives Do While Their Men Are Away! It will leave you breathless! | The Thinking Moms Revolution
The Thinking Mom's Revolution is one of the best blogs around on what autism is like for so many parents these days. It wasn't all that long ago that autism was considered to be a rare condition. Nowadays however, it seems to be the rule rather than the exception that someone in your family will be diagnosed as autistic.
Autism is most often caused by environmental factors - vaccines and antibiotics among them. So though drug companies are responsible for causing our current epidemic, they will not help when it's your family that's been affected - you are on your own.
This article is a plea for understanding and compassion and a wake-up call to those who have been sleeping through the autism emergency which is getting worse every year. Please read it and remember, the next time you meet someone whose family has been touched by autism, be kind, be helpful (if at all possible) and be THERE for them. None of us can parent alone - and parenting a special-needs child is all the more reason why help and friendship will be needed and should be offered.
