Growing up in New York, Columbia University, Cornell and the other Ivy League colleges were the ultimate - they represented the best and the brightest that our country had to offer in the way of education.
Over the last few decades, however, the lack of insight, intelligence and just plain common sense emerging from these formerly hallowed halls of knowledge have brought them down a great deal in my opinion.
Apparently, there are many cases of symptomless Omicron being reported at Cornell University and the school is threatening to keep students prisoner over the Christmas holidays if they don’t continue to mask, social distance and take all the steps that haven’t worked for the last 2 years but somehow, will protect everyone now. Right.
In a letter sent to the students and staff on the Ithaca Campus by Mike Kotlikoff, Provost and Ryan Lombardi, Vice President for Student and Campus Life, it was stated that:
The number of new COVID-19 cases among the Cornell student body continues to climb at concerning rates. Testing from Friday and Saturday, which is still in the process of being finalized, has already identified nearly 300 additional student cases on the Ithaca campus. In addition, we have now confirmed cases of the Omicron variant within our Cornell community.
Keep in mind that COVID jabs are compulsory for anyone at the Ithaca campus so if we are seeing more false-positive results which are now being called Omicron (one month ago, they would have all been Delta and before that, Mu, Gamma or Beta), then the jabs simply aren’t working. Which we knew already. Which Messers Kotlikoff and Lombardi apparently know too.
The vast majority of cases are linked to off-campus student social gatherings where masking and other public health measures were not followed. Being vaccinated, even with a booster shot, is not a license to let down our guards.
So if being jabbed twice with an experimental bioweapon and then a third time to boost said bioweapon isn’t enough to protect you, why do it?
But never let lack of efficacy be a reason to give up on a medical procedure - especially one that claims to be a vaccine. After all, NO vaccines have ever prevented infection because they simply can’t do that.
Students testing positive for COVID-19 now, and in coming days, risk being required to isolate, away from family and friends, during the upcoming winter break.
Constitution? What constitution? Cornell is effectively threatening to hold staff and students prisoner, to kidnap them and hold them against their will even though they are all jabbed, double-jabbed and, for the most part, boosted.
Please, let’s work together to stop COVID-19 transmission now:
Masks must be worn indoors at all times, unless in a private, non-shared space (e.g., dorm room or office); we strongly recommend masking outdoors when physical distancing is not possible.
Use grab and go food options if available. Otherwise, try to spread out from others and do not linger. Put your mask back on as soon as you are done eating or drinking.
When studying with others, keep group sizes small, wear masks and maintain your distance.
Adhere to your surveillance testing schedule and take advantage of supplemental testing.
In other words, even though masks, social distancing, avoiding crowds and getting jabbed from here to eternity haven’t worked to slow the spread of this symptomless infection that simply does NOT kill healthy young people; even though they don’t even know they have a virus without being tested using a PCR swab that isn’t fit for purpose; we are going to continue this charade because it makes us feel all-powerful to virtue-signal in this way.
Intelligence and common sense have never been further apart than they are right now. Science and superstition have become impossible to tell apart.
Good stuff Meryl.
Some additional questions I have, which I will pose to the administration tomorrow and certainly get ignored, are:
By your narrative it appears the vaccines do work in academic settings but don't work in social settings? Do you have studies that confirm this?
Though it seems possible, according to your narrative, that the reason the vaccines don't work in social settings is due to insufficient masking in such settings. If this is the case this brings up two questions:
A) Where is your evidence that the transmission occurred in these settings?
B) Does this mean that the vaccine only works when accompanied by a mask?
How have you determined that there is no transmission in class room settings? Where can I find that study?
While eating and drinking does the virus take a time out from being transmissible?
If there is such "spread" causing record number of "cases" isn't this a clear indication that the vaccines, masks and/or vaccine/mask combination at best don't work and therefore promoting "boosters" for an ineffective vaccine is doubling down on a failed strategy?
As an internationally recognized research institution are you using this opportunity to test vaccinated students to monitor adverse reactions?
How many of the over 500 cases this week (an unprecedented number) are from students who have received the booster?
Do you have one single scientific report to back up any of these comments?
I'm sure we could come up with a dozen more questions that illustrate the insanity of this. Let me know if you have any to add.
