To Susie O'Brien,
Your bio on your blog describes you as "smart". I was hoping I would find evidence of this in your recent post on vaccinations. As usual with mainstream journalists covering this issue I find that your mind (or your boss') is completely closed to anything but the hardcore pro-vaccination stance.
This issue is not black and white.
Do you know who Hannah Poling is? Saba Button? Kenneth Best? Do you know why the VICP was formed? How do you account for every single one of the tens of thousands of reports made to VAERS?
Ethyl mercury, aluminium and formaldehyde must just be random associations of letters to you.
Could you honestly sit in a small room with Saba Button and her parents, look them in the eye, and proceed to read every word of your article with the same feeling with which you wrote it?
If the answer is "No", well then a little bit of my faith in humanity has been restored. Maybe it is time to reevaluate the way you approach and investigate this issue.
If the answer is "Yes"......well, I am lost for words. Disgust comes to mind but is barely sufficient, especially considering you are a mother. How could you show such complete disregard for the suffering of children and their families?
The list of victims of vaccine damage is growing by the day. This is a fact. Sadly nothing "Susie says" is going to change that.
Perhaps you could change your blog to "Susie Thinks", or preferably "Susie thinks deeply and critically and investigates issues thoroughly before she speaks".
I realise this article was only intended as an inflammatory piece (it certainly isn't a factual article) and as such I should have been above commenting. Sadly, I feel I must say something. Just last night I got news that my good friend's two year old daughter is not well after a vaccine booster.
I guess it's a pity that your blog isn't called "Simon Says", then somebody might actually do what you tell them. Isn't it a great pity these days that so many people are able to think for themselves. Such a pity............
Sincerely AH
Dear Editor,
The fact that such a malicious and one sided article was able to be printed is an absolute disgrace to your publication and the integrity and quality of the journalists therein. This is scare mongering and propaganda by Sue Ieraci who is a Ministerial Appointee to the NSW Medical Board as well as a very active member of the organisation Stop the AVN (conspiracy theorists endangering our children by peddling crazy theories about minority groups within Australia) – which renders her absolutely void of any impartial commentary.
There are many in both the medical profession and the community who do not believe in vaccination, quite the contrary.
No matter what people believe, freedom of choice for parents is paramount. One size does not fit all.
The key issue is that every parent should have the right to choose what is right for their child.
Printing a story like this, that is based on the ‘opinion’ of a one sided person with an agenda is amateur, unprofessional and disgraceful. Certainly, it is not the kind of article that represents the Heralds apparent Mission Statement of "The Herald Sun is dedicated to accurate, fair and fearless publication of news and commentary.” This article might be fearless, but it is neither accurate nor is it fair.
Moving forward, I hope you aim to live up to your Mission Statement and act with integrity and professionalism.
