My talk (sort of) at the AVN's 30th Anniversary Gala last night
And what a night it was! Thank you so much to everyone who came and those who organised such an amazing evening!
Last night was the 30th Anniversary of the Australian Vaccination-risks Network, Inc - the organisation I founded way back when.
The current committee put together an amazing event with speeches by Senator Malcolm Roberts, past President and author, Greg Beattie, legends from Club Grubbery, Graham Hood and John Larter (you can’t make this stuff up… ;-) and current AVN President, Aneeta Hafemeister.
Past President Tasha David was supposed to be a speaker as well but couldn’t come because she is nursing her 21-year-old daughter, Sahara, who has cancer. If you could all hold Tasha and her family in your thoughts and prayers, that would be appreciated. She is one of the most amazing women I have ever known, and she has been through so much in her life - she needs to be lifted up and supported now more than ever.
I was also invited to speak and diligently wrote my talk down so I wouldn’t forget any of the very important information I wanted to convey. I then promptly left it all aside and just spoke off the cuff…c’est la vie!
But not to waste the opportunity, here is my talk from last night. Videos and photos will follow in the next day or two. I, of course, did not remember to take even one photo the whole night <sigh>.
***********************************************
When I think back to the time when the AVN started it doesn’t seem like it’s been 30 years. In fact, it feels like yesterday. Or a lifetime ago. Depending on the day.
When I started the AVN along with 2 chiropractors and 2 other parents of vaccine injured children, I assumed that it would all be done and dusted within 3 or 4 years. Maybe 5 on the outside.
Back then, if you’d have told me that 30 years down the track, things would have gotten so much worse; our government would have become so dictatorial; and the world’s population would have given in with barely a whimper to the nearly total loss of their basic freedoms, I’d have said you were delusional.
I often wonder if – had I known in advance that we’d still be fighting this hard 30+ years down the track – I still would have done it? I can’t honestly say.
But my reasons for getting involved haven’t changed and somehow, I feel that this is what I was sent here for.
I started this activism well before the AVN began – after my eldest child was vaccine injured and then, I started to meet so many families whose children had also been harmed or killed by vaccines.
There was a young boy in my son’s preschool class who came to school with a helmet on because he had uncontrollable seizures after vaccination. He died about 2 months after starting there. One morning, his mother came into his room and found him dead on the floor. He’d had a seizure overnight and just passed away. Today, his parents would most likely be up on charges and their three younger children would have been taken away from them. But those were more innocent times.
I went to his funeral. It was the saddest, saddest thing. His little white coffin had been decorated by his younger siblings and it was hard to imagine what his short life had been like. How his future had been stolen by the very first – and only – vaccine he’d ever received.
So a few months later, when Viera Scheibner came up to Lismore to speak, Ken and I braved floods and cyclonic weather to get there and see her. It was a game changer.
Like Greg Beattie here, and Susan Lindberg, Narelle and many others in Australia, I started the AVN after meeting Viera. For those of you who don’t know her, Viera is an Australian legend. She has a 3-bedroom house in the blue mountains that is mostly filled – floor to ceiling – with medical research on the links between vaccination and various conditions – especially SIDS or Cot Death.
With her late husband, Viera, a research scientist with a PhD, discovered this link - independent of any research - by observing clinical data after they jointly invented a device called Cot Watch. This was an infant monitor that followed the heartbeat data of babies who were at risk of SIDS – most other monitors only looked at breathing and babies could stop breathing well after their heart had already stopped.
Viera and her husband never lost a baby on cot-watch. Something no other monitor can claim.
But their business was shut down abruptly after they innocently reported a link in monitored babies to the time of vaccination and an upsurge of alarms due to baby’s hearts stopping. This could not be allowed to go public, so they went from the darlings of the paediatric community, who had referred many parents to them, to pariahs who lost their investment, their reputations and most of their money.
Viera has never given up. She still researches and has tens of thousands of medical papers which desperately need to be digitised should anyone here have a way of doing that? Please let me know.
I went to the Blue Mountains with my family not long after the AVN formed. At that time, I met Kerri Hamblin who started the first group for vaccination information in Australia, to the best of my knowledge. I went to her house and we had a really good long talk about everything that was happening with this issue and during that talk, she told me that she was tired of it all and wanted to shut her doors. She asked if I would be interested in taking her research home with me.
Of course, I said I would. And I clearly remember her giving me 2 file boxes of medical papers and miscellaneous documents including adverse reaction reports she’d collected. I said to my husband – oh my god – so much information! I can’t believe she collected this much-it must have taken years!
But over the next 2 years or so, I amassed 10 times the number of documents Kerri had given me and over the following decades, the number of studies, reports and reactions the AVN gathered would have numbered in the many thousands. They are all digitised now, thank goodness because who’s got that kind of room?! Only Viera.
When I came back from the Blue Mountains, I met a local woman with a young boy who had seizures not long after his DPT vaccine as a baby. Though he was about 14 years old at the time, he’d had a seizure every 28 days since like clockwork.
I was incensed at all the reactions that had been crossing my path so I asked her if she would be willing to speak with the media. She agreed and I contacted our local TV station and they sent someone over to her house to talk to us. Those were the days! It would never happen now!
I remember feeling really nauseous before the filming started. I actually thought I was going to be sick! She looked at me and said – don’t be nervous. You’re not speaking for you – you are speaking for all the kids who can’t speak for themselves and they need you to be their voice. Instant calm. And instant realisation of the huge responsibility the AVN had taken on.
I can’t remember this mum’s name – or her son’s – but I have never forgotten the lesson she taught me.
And out of that TV report, our adverse reactions database arose.
I gave out my number and asked for anyone whose child had reacted to a vaccine to contact me and I would take the details down. By the next day, I’d gotten 17 reports including 1 child who had died. And this only went out on local TV.
Within a year – give or take – we had well over 400 reaction reports we’d collected and had put together a form for parents to fill in if they had a reaction to report. The government only asked one or two questions. We had a double-sided sheet that included asking about the health of the child prior to vaccination and whether they’d been breastfed and how the birth had been. It was important information, but the government wasn’t interested. At that time, only doctors were able to report reactions and they weren’t doing it.
Narelle Chenery, who ran the AVN’s Melbourne branch, lived in the then Health Minister, Michael Wooldridge’s, electorate. She hand-delivered 400+ reports to his office but heard nothing from them. After 2 weeks, she followed up, only to be told that the office had lost the reports. How careless!
That’s how seriously the government took and still takes those who ‘did the right thing’ and followed the vaccination orders. So Narelle, being Narelle, went straight back in and delivered another 400 copies. A couple of weeks later, she got a letter from Wooldridge’s office saying that since these reactions had been reported by parents, and since parents couldn’t really be trusted to know what they saw with their own eyes because they weren’t trained like doctors are, the reports would not be accepted. I’m paraphrasing here, but that’s close enough to what Narelle was told.
In 1998, some of our members who followed Hansard told us that there was legislation being voted on in the Senate the next week to make it a requirement for parents to be ‘counselled’ by doctors on the benefits and risks of vaccination and if they couldn’t convince the doctor that they were knowledgeable about this subject, they would lose all of their childcare payments. It was part of an omnibus veteran’s affairs bill so we never would have known if this person hadn’t told us.
Lynne from the Gold Coast activated her group who sent volunteers to my house and we spent the next 2 days basically copying and binding booklets for every single senator on why this legislation was a really bad idea. We had also just taken delivery of our book, Vaccination Roulette – 10,000 copies – and I included 1 of these in each package. My luggage was WAY overweight!
We made many phone calls and by Monday, we’d raised the $1,200 necessary to fly both of us down to Canberra and to pay $500 for the assistance of a lobbyist to show us the ropes.
That two weeks we spent there saw the birth of the Conscientious Objector Clause which meant that parents would never have to prove anything about why they chose not to vaccinate. And for 16 years, until the introduction of No Jab No Pay, vaccination was not a requirement for preschool or childcare – though many parents were unaware of that fact because of the lying media and government.
We got this result with the help of One Nation, The Greens (Bob Brown actually introduced the amendments for us), the Democrats and the independent senator from Tasmania – Brian Harradine.
If you think ‘little people’ can’t change things, this experience should show you how wrong that idea is! And if you think getting independents into Parliament isn’t really important, we never could have gotten legislation passed without them. Think about that the next time you cast your ballot.
I don’t have time to go over all of the other amazing things we’ve done at the AVN.
· The 100 page colour magazine, Informed Choice/Living Wisdom, that empowered thousands of people every quarter.
· The fact that we lobbied government again – in 2002 – and got permission for parents to report their children’s reactions (though the government still didn’t take any of this seriously).
· The Senate inquiry into No Jab No Pay that Tasha David and Greg Beattie were instrumental in bringing about.
· Our valiant attempts through the court system to stop the use of those toxic, gene-altering injections for COVID. Attempts which failed – not due to any error or oversight on our part – but simply because of the cowardice and corruption displayed by both the Federal Court and the High Court of Australia. Our legal team – Peter Fam, Katie Ashby-Koppens and Julian Gillespie – worked harder and more diligently than you could ever believe.
· Under the Wire which was such a huge success on the podcast scene and will be returning to the internet by the end of this month.
· And of course, the VaxXed Bus, that has seen well over 1,100 interviews by myself, Aneeta and Angela and been staffed and driven by Nina, Triccy, Jazzy and more.
It has been a huge amount of work. And the toll it’s taken emotionally on me, my husband and my children is something that even I can’t comprehend.
I studied at the feet of giants. Maureen Hickman, Barbara Loe Fisher, Dr Archie Kalokerinos and so many others! But my best teachers were the parents themselves – both those who had children react or die and those who were clever enough to question vaccination before their children were subjected to the jab.
Listening to stories of people’s lives being destroyed by evil corporations in collusion with our own government is always horrendous. But I’ve been lucky – my own vaccine injured child has overcome most – but not all – of what the vaccines did to him. We are blessed. And we have been blessed by meeting the families of the vaccine injured who soldier on through conditions and circumstances that would have seen me dissolve into a blubbering and totally incapable mess. They are made of stronger stuff.
So many have recently woken up to the fact that vaccines are harmful and ineffective because of the last 4 years of covid lies. The government and media in their stupidity and incompetence have done more to advance the cause of vaccine scepticism than the AVN and any other group ever has or ever could.
The problem is, most still think that it’s only COVID jabs that are the issue – not realising that many generations of children have had their brains, their bodies and their futures blighted by these poisons.
The Great Awakening is taking place, but we need to continue working to make sure it happens faster. Because the plans to enslave us are so blatant – so transparent – without our activism, they will succeed. And rights once lost are never returned easily – and usually only with bloodshed. We want to do everything we can to avoid that.
Under Aneeta’s leadership, and with an incredibly dedicated and hard-working committee, the AVN is going from strength to strength. They are forging collaborative partnerships with groups here in Australia like the ACA and the Children’s Health Defense. AMPS and the Red Union. And many similar organisations overseas.
Many of you here have been with us since day dot. Others are new to this cause. But all of you are loved and appreciated. The last 30 years have been a wild ride. I am hoping, with all of your help, that the next 30 will be ones of peace, freedom and liberty.

Thank you Meryl for your tireless dedication to this very important cause. We are just so very fortunate having someone like you.
Reading your speech made me realise why I was so against vaccinating my own children and now my grandchildren.
They have grown up so well.
But the fight for freedom of choice must go on.
Meryl, so grateful for all your tireless work! You are amazing! Loved reading your speech.
The conscientious objector form got my kids through school, I never knew the back story! Thank you!
Seeing all the new daycare centres popping up just fills me with dread … all have to be fully vaxxed .
Please continue the great work.
