Thank goodness! It's finally the end of the longest 2 weeks in history!
I think we've all aged a lot more over the last '2 weeks' than you would think possible...
Today in the US - April 14th, 2023 - the COVID ‘State of Emergency’ officially ended.
It couldn’t have happened yesterday - April 13th. Nor, would it have been possible to have ended tomorrow - April 15th (tax day - for those who don’t live in the US). No, the science stated that April 14th was the day to end all days! The end of two weeks to flatten the curve.
Or, shall I say:
Two weeks to flatten the population.
Two weeks to flatten your business.
Two weeks to flatten your and your children’s educations.
Two weeks to flatten your family, your community and your mental health.
Who knew that so much could happen in just two weeks?
Luckily for us in Australia, our state and federal governments haven’t yet ended the emergency declaration. Doing so would take all that lovely, sexy and all-encompassing power away from them.
Not to worry though, I’m sure it won’t be long before the next emergency (virus, environment, terrorism etc.) is declared and we can have two more weeks to flatten that bloody curve!
I saw an advertisement today on FB calling for volunteers to be part of a clinical trial to test a new covid vaccine to “help” in the development of future vaccines against future variants. Requirements: to be in good health, have had 3 covid vaccines already, no auto immune illnesses, not had a flu shot in the last (few ? ) weeks ... out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed ... um 😶
It’s more like a perpetual bloody wave!😵💫
