QLD has had a unicameral parliament for 100 years after a Labor government abolished the Legislative Council by chicanery and for political expediency. The resulting lack of a check on the Assembly has resulted in a succession of corrupt and incompetent governments, both Tory and Labor.
The present government, led by Anesthesia Pieceoshit, is no exception.

Being TransFemme and 63, I'm one of the demographics that the Govt is legislating to "supposedly" protect, but this sort of legislation absolutely terrifies me. And I know other older Trans people like me that feel the same. However when I try to raise the heretical idea of "Freedom of Speech" on reddit forums such as r/transgenderau I am shot down and downvoted to oblivion about my absurd idea by anyone under 40yo and labelled a RWNJ (Right Wing Nut Job), never mind, that until the last year, when I voted independent Right, for the prior 45 years my vote had always been on the Left. And the younger they are, the more vehemant they are. I get the feeling they are sort of intoxicated with this apparent new super power they feel they have. It doesn't matter how tactfully I describe how this sort of legislation could come back to bite them at some later date. I'm just a RWNJ. It's very sad to witness especially when I was under the impression that the Left "of Old" had Freedom of Speech as a cornerstone of their policy. Maybe I was wrong. IDK the whole world seems upside down at the moment, even for an old Tranny like me. And if I'm confused, God help all the straight people.
Thanks so much for sharing, Miss Corina! I interviewed a wonderful trans woman on the VaXed Bus at Coffs Harbour last year - Cleo. And she said very much the same thing. It isn't the trans community that's the problem - it is those in government who will use the trans community to destroy the family and groom children for their own perverted purpose. We need to stick together on this issue.

It seems like a while ago, and maybe the spiritus annis has faded just a smidge, but when we Yanks first became fully fed up with exactly this type of righteous mothering, we tossed the buggers’ tea into the harbor, and then we started shooting them. They shot back for a while, and it became a messy divorce for those first few years, but things ultimately worked themselves out. It wasn’t easy - but most of the main characters survived.
You will know when the last straw has been set in place - the precedent has been set, and those of us over here that still remember will be cheering for you...and taking names of those around us that might possibly be cheering against you...

You are correct - the American revolution has been completely buggered by statist counterrevolutionaries, and quite a few of our values have been put under threat. But I still have my AR-15; so does my neighbor; so does almost every man I know. The statists hate that fact, and wrangle that reality this way and that without effect. A rifle in every home is the ultimate guarantee for democratic process - paper or electronic votes are easy to take away or short circuit. A vote with a solid copper jacket will always be counted. The useful idiots moan about weapons and threats to “our democracy”...where the rubber meets the road, the weapons are democracy.
