I also am a Jew who was raised in New York City. I will have to check out your posts.

Your newsletter seem to have a lot of sweetness. I must concede that my posts often have a decidedly sour twinge..

However, I do offer a lot of laughs, and in this post I offer a comic take on the Holidays, holiday foods and how they have changed in the past few decades.

Thanks David - I loved your Hanukkah Sadie (I had an Aunt Sadie - doesn't ever Jew?) and it really made me laugh - and hungry too!

Merry Christmas to you and your family Meryl. Maybe the Crimes Act, particularly in reference to grievance bodily harm, should receive a sharper focus in the New year & the politicians who have received plenty of fair warning( s) & the real concerns that they should have about complicity to murder. Maybe a campaign, en masse, by the people who have suffered real injuries supported by Julian et Al's stark evidence. Make the copper's do their damned job. The Crimes Act; "Grievous bodily harm" includes--

(a) the destruction (other than in the course of a medical procedure or a termination of a pregnancy in accordance with the Abortion Law Reform Act 2019 ) of the foetus of a pregnant woman, whether or not the woman suffers any other harm, and

(b) any permanent or serious disfiguring of the person, and

(c) any grievous bodily disease (in which case a reference to the infliction of grievous bodily harm includes a reference to causing a person to contract a grievous bodily disease).

Seeing those responsible for this devastation over the last 50 years (at least - it started way earlier than that) punished as they deserve to be punished would be the best present I could ever ask for. I think you would be the same.

I wish that reincarnation is for real, so we can punish them over & over & over & over again.
